“Magretta, I have a pin-point on the monster’s location.”
…
“I have my squadron in specified locations…They await my signal. Shoot
to kill…You know my specialty….Because I get the bloody job done, unlike
those new cadets you hired from Mexico. What are we? Under budget cuts? ”

“Greg Addison didn’t recruit me so I can sit on my ass behind a lousy desk, miss.

“I’ll stay in contact. Over and out.”

Nicholas Dyson was a bit of an asshole. He knew it. His co-workers knew it. His
squadron knew it. And yet, he always keeps his word. Once his has a goal in mind, i
t attacks it at full force until it has been met. A metaphorical juggernaut. There
was really no stopping him.

Well. Aside from Jennifer Magretta. Beautiful. Fiesty….And too high up on
authority to flirt with. Oh, he has tried. Countless times. But he always gets
shot down. Maybe because he is an asshole. Generally. Greg Addison has
told him off countless times for his stupidity, but to Nick, it was all in
good, lousy fun. Hell, there had to be some kind of excitement in his work.
Hunting, capturing, and murdering Abnormals wasn't quite giving him
the satisfaction he once yearned for.

Bringing down the Sanctuary in Old City, wasn’t part of his master plan.
Maybe to Greg Addison, but not to him. He enjoyed the competition. He needed
the competition…To keep himself alert and on his toes. He wanted the
satisfaction of seeing them fail, simply because they are out-numbered…and
out-powered. Besides. He always believed his intentions were good. Why
try and save dangerous monsters, when he could eliminate the threat from
the rest of the world altogether? Enforce safety on countless innocent civilians
who have no bloody clue about the monsters that lurk in the night. That was
his version of events, and he was sticking to it. He believed he was doing
a great act of civil service.

Helen Magnus was clearly in over her head.
Nicholas sat hunched behind the prickly thorn bushes, peering through to keep
his eyes peeled for his target. His men were strategically placed around specific
locations around the rim of the old crater, awaiting his orders. They were on
the hunt for a bipedal lizard-like creature with thick scaly skin, four sets of
beady eyes, a spiked tail, and a set of dangerously clawed hands. Almost
seven-foot tall, and can emit heat from his rugged form. Dangerous.

Nick whispered into his walkie, “Await my orders. Move in on my signal.”
There was a deafening silence, and then a faint shuffle within the crater. These
creatures were attracted to heat, and the crater –despite being long dormant – was
closer to the Earth’s core. Hence why a small group of them took residence
here. They were to be eliminated immediately.

Suddenly, the once-hidden creature released a horrible screech, and charged
at two of his men.
at two of his men.
“Now! Fire!” Shots rang suddenly from all eight of his many in all different
direction. The creature’s thickened skin made it difficult to penetrate.
Nicholas opened fire, but the creature made a hasty dash in the other direction
into the scrub-land.

“Shit – Follow that bloody thing! I want it taken down ASAP!”
Nicholas made a quick move, and followed the creature into the unknown,
dangerous scrub lands of Libya, Africa.
