The best way to describe Adam is "Jekyll and Hyde". He has been diagnosed by textbook as a sufferer of Dissociative Identity Disorder, rendering him with 2 distinct personalities.

Blinded by vengeance and with nothing to lose, Adam is willing to sacrifice everything to achieve the goal in mind. In addition, his determination and lack of regard for morality allows Adam to break the fringes of science.

When Adam is not succumbed by his darker personality, his normal self believes in second chances and retains his wonder towards the mysteries of science. Adam Worth would probably be described as an outcast of the Outcasts (aka geeks) in the school yard. While he is more of an introvert, he constantly seeks for society (and The Five) to accept him for his intelligence.

history:

• Studied the same time members of The Five were studying and came together
  
• Involved in darker experiments, one of such consists of forced cell regeneration. The tested mouse grew an extra head and died a painful death
  
• Spied on The Five in their initial experimentation of the Source Blood and attempted to join them
  
• Rejected from The Five (especially by Helen Magnus) with concerns towards his behaviour and experiments conducted.
  
• Approached Helen Magnus and James Watson for help with his daughter
  
• Helen and James refused to inject the source blood into his daughter (Imogene) to save her life, but did everything they could to save her. Their efforts were unfortunately in vain.
  
• Adam blamed Helen and James for Imogene's death.
  
• The loss of his daughter triggered a psychotic break in Adam, where the rage over the death of Imogene and the perception that Helen (and James) murdered her led to the emergence of 'Hyde'
  
• The government was alerted by his activities from the large quantity of cyanide stolen. With suspicion that Adam was going to use it as a weapon, the government enlisted The Five to hunt him down
  
• Eventually, The Five tracked him down and Helen shot him off a cliff. John Druitt saved him with his own agenda in mind.
  
• Fulfilling his agenda, John disposed of Adam's body in the canyon, where it then drifted into a civilization of abnormals (Hollow Earth) where advanced technology were used to revive him
  
• Having lost the way into the Hollow Earth, Adam enlisted help from his abnormal allies in search for its holographic map which had been uncovered by Helen Magnus
  
• His fight with Helen Magnus in a time dilation field led to his imprisonment in the Sanctuary's medical ward. Eventually, he revealed the side effects of using his teleportation device (while they were in the time dilation field) and gave up the information to attaining the cure
  
• Proving his services useful, he got John Druitt to teleport them to Hollow Earth after tracking the locations of Helen and her crew. But on arrival, Adam sent his abnormal allies on John and captured him.

He stepped out of the shadows, the light that poured on his features revealed the twisted smirk on his face. His eyes glimmered when color drained from her face as her lips whispered his name.

"Helen," he greeted, stopping just in front of the taller woman. "Beautiful as always," he took a limp hand and in her surprised, planted a kiss on the back of her hand. "Missed me?"

Adam laughed when her jaws visibly clenched in demand for his purpose. "Oh Helen," he shook his head, eyes ice-cold for a moment. "If I tell you, I will have to kill you." Their eyes met, challenging, for what felt like forever before Adam's lips broke into a manic smile. When her eyes drifted down to his waistband, he laid a protective hand over it. "Just a little insurance," he explained, pushing a button to activate a deflective shield around him as he turned his back to her. With a flick of a switch, the darkness before them lit up.

"Shall we?"
