+ + + + + + [OOC: Once we have an Erika and Abby, they are free to join as well]
When Helen desired something, she was always prepared to get it one way or another.
She had spent the entire Christmas day making sure that her current patients were attended to and looked after. Her dear Sasquatch promised to look after the Sanctuary and its residents while Helen and the rest of the team heading to Alfredo’s for a lavish dinner. Helen did attempt to convince him to come a long, but he decided against it and urged Helen to go and enjoy herself. It seems she was much too overworked these days. All for a good cause, of course.
For the last 10 years, she had always decided to have a Christmas celebration in the comfort of her own home. This year, however, felt different. She decided to book a large table at Alfredo’s, in one of the private balcony seating. Helen’s name was even infamous at the famous Italian restaurant, and so she was determined not to let anything hinder the booking. That is, unless another Abnormal crisis took notice. Otherwise, she simply wanted to spend the night over a fresh Italian meal and a glass of old red wine, with her colleagues. Her dear friends. Her family.
Helen Magnus was the first to arrive at the first class restaurant. She wore a sleek black knee-length pencil skirt, and a shiny black satin blouse, with several ruffles that lined up in the centre. She wore a thin gold necklace with a tiny diamond – A gift from Ashley four years ago one Christmas. Her hair pulled slightly back with a clip, allowing thin spiral gold earrings to show through her brunette locks. Claiming the balcony table, she settled on one end of the table, as she awaited the rest of her friends to arrive. She ordered several bottles of red wine, in the meantime. Nikola would be happy.
The balcony seat over-looked the glistening light-filled restaurant district of New City. It was the more expensive side of town. If you looked further enough, you could see the faint lights of the tower of the Sanctuary. Helen sat there with hands rested neatly in her lap, admiring the gorgeous city view. Sky-scrapers all around, stood tall like beacons. It was amazing how much the city had changed. These days, the city seemed to show its age more than she did.
The table was set up just for her and her colleagues in the Christmas spirit. Holly and glass ornaments littered the table, along with a set of white candles, and even a miniature Christmas tree in the centre. The waiter came by almost immediately, and Helen took down an order for most of the menu. Besides, it was not every day you would get to wine and dine at Alfredo’s. Especially given the team’s hectic lifestyle.

Will glanced down at his watch as he walked down the street towards the restaurant. He still had a little time but he hurried his pace anyway. As he walked, observing all the people shuffling past on late night Christmas present runs, he thought back on his childhood Christmas memories. Vague memories of Christmas day flashed through his mind as he walked. It was nothing you would consider traditional. Most Christmas’s would just be him and his Father having dinner at the dining room table. Will hadn’t had a traditional Christmas since his mother was killed by what he had thought at the time was a figment of his imagination. It didn’t bother him really. After all, he wasn’t close to his father. They had grown further apart as Will had gotten older, and realised what he did for a living.
He shook the thoughts of Christmas past from his mind. “This Christmas is going to be different” he muttered under his breath as he looked up and saw the restaurant ahead of him. After all, even with the difficulties of the last year, Will was in a good place. More importantly, he was dating Abby and was still looking around for the perfect gift for her. Something he had been struggling on for weeks. He put the thought to one-side as he walked up to the restaurant door. A man stood outside in a Santa suit, ringing a bell. A collection bucket sat in a tripod beside him. Will reached into his pocket, and pulled out some change, smiling at the man as he placed it in the bucket. The Santa smiled back at him and started swinging his bell again. Will continued on and, grabbing the door of the restaurant, pulled it open and walked inside. The maître D stood at the podium ahead of him, and Will walked towards him. “A table for Helen Magnus?” he asks as he raises a small smile at him. The maître D ignored it and looked down the reservation book in front of him. He used his finger to scan through the pages until he stopped and looked back up. “Yes Sir. One of your party is already here. Please follow me.”
He followed the maître D behind the red velvet curtain at the front of the restaurant. As they entered, Will saw Magnus at the table and raised his hand in a silent wave. The maître D stood beside the table as Will pulled the seat out. “Would there be anything else, Sir?” he asked. Will shook his head, “Not just yet. Thank you.” The maître D smiled politely and walked away. Will turned back towards Magnus and looked over the table that was lavishly decorated with Christmas decorations.
A selection of wines sat in the centre of the table. Will smiled and shook his head as he noticed the labels on one of the bottles: ’95 Chateau Margot.
“So, I’m guessing Tesla’s coming along then?” He asked, reaching over and pouring some water into a wine glass. He noticed that little smirk that he has seen quite regularly when someone mentioned Tesla.
“Never mind” Will added, shaking his head and smiling. He raised his glass of water. “Merry Christmas, Magnus.” [/size]

It was this time of year that really good to Kate. She hadn't seen her family since her brother had needed to bail him out of something, yet again, just a year or so ago. Even though that was a long time, just to see family, it was more for the fact that she hadn't had a good old fashioned Christmas in a very long time and it was so long that spending it alone, or at least on the run, was something that she had gotten way to familiar with. With everything that had been going down over the past couple of weeks, with the invasion and everything, things just hadn't seemed the same around the Sanctuary! So as soon as Magnus had asked her wither or not she would like to come to a Christmas dinner, it became more evident that she really did want t do something, other than the whole gift giving thing! Due to the fact that she really wondered why they 'had' to give gifts in the first place. But that was just her being in one of those moods that she just wanted to shoot something.
It was the couple of minutes before she decided to start going that she really didn't know what she was going to wear and for a person like her, would like to wear a nice pair of jeans over s skirt or dress, she really didn't have to many things to wear. Which was just a shame for her, really. After a quick look around her room it seemed like the best that she was going to be able to do was a nice pair of pants that she had used not to long ago for something, that she really didn't remember. It must have either been really boring or just that there must have been alcohol. As soon as Kate was dress she grabbed a cab and began to make her way to Alfredo’s. It was the ride over there that began to worry her. The fact that this was really happening was something that she really hadn't been thinking about until she was settled down and on her way.
Giving the cab a couple notes she made her into Alfredo's and it was sure that all her nervousness had gone somewhere else, which was for the better at a time like this. As Kate walked into the area, after having one of the staff showing where their table was going to be and all, to see that she was one of the first people to show up. "Hello guys." Kate said with a smile on her face, it was nice to see everyone with bright smiles at this time of year!

Henry didn’t want to go. It took a dope slap from Bigfoot to finally make him see sense, but still he dragged his feet. He checked every single experiment in his lab, checked all the security cameras, even helped clean out one or two of the abnormal enclosures. Timed ticked by so slowly.
On the other hand, he didn’t want to be late. If Erika was able to make it, he wanted to be able to impress her. Even if she wasn’t able to come, there were still his friends and colleagues to show up for. And, of course, the food. Henry could put up with the company for the food.
So, with minutes to spare, Henry jumped in the shower and scrubbed up. He borrowed some of Will’s hair gel, and tried to make himself look smart. He even wore a shirt. And a blazer! Henry felt very uncomfortable, but it was Alfredo’s. Henry had to look smart. He didn’t want to let the rest of the team down.
Then, of course, Henry’s tablet bleeped. Just a minor blip in the EM field, but Henry couldn’t figure out what caused it. He wanted to stay and dig a little deeper, but food was calling. Henry decided to take the tablet with him, so he could do a few more scans.
Honestly, the technology put him at ease a little. Not that he was nervous. It was just a meal with his colleagues, his friends, maybe his girlfriend. And possibly Nikola Tesla. Yeah, okay, Henry was nervous.
The nerves didn’t disappear when he got to the restaurant. Kate and the Doc looked absolutely stunning. Henry stared, open mouthed, gawping, until he finally remembered his manners. Well, almost.
“Hey.” Henry muttered, fiddling with his computer tablet as he took a seat. By the amount of wine the Doc had ordered, there was every possibility Tesla might arrive. With the way Henry felt, he wasn’t sure there’d be any wine left by the time Tesla came. Henry drained his first glass within moments, before finally getting the courage to look up at the rest of the people seated. “So, this is nice, huh?” Henry smiled awkwardly.

Helen poured herself a glass of wine, whilst she waiting for her colleagues – her dearest friends - to arrive. Nights like this was a rare occasion. Not just for Helen, but for the others as well. Juggling the hectic life of running the Sanctuary was not an easy task. It fact, having a life outside of the Sanctuary walls was almost non-existent. Looking after Abnormals, locating the endangered ones, and provided medical treatment for some took up literally all of their time and effort. Keeping the Sanctuary running and safe, was their number one priority. This was over a hundred years of Helen’s life work, and that wasn’t even exaggerated. But Helen felt that they needed to wind back and relax. Coming from Helen, this was almost unheard of. However, she knew the last few years had been extremely tough and unforgiving. Through their greatest accomplishments, discoveries, and even stressful and emotional situations, they deserved a night like this. And being close to Christmas, this was the least that she could do.
She took a small sip of her wine, and sat there comfortably, taking in its sweet and silky flavour. Something that Nikola may enjoy. Which reminded her, that she needed to stock up on the wine in her cellar. Or at least relocate it, since Nikola has been taking advantage of it. She smirked at the thought, but as she took another sip, Will Zimmerman made himself known.
”Ah, Will. Yes. I have invited Nikola, however I never received a reply. Though, this is Nikola we’re talking about. I’m sure he’ll arrive once he realises his favourite wines are on the menu, “ Helen grinned, and glanced behind him and to her dismay, he came alone. ”So Abby won’t be joining us tonight?” Helen motioned for him to take a seat. Cutlery, plates and glasses were already lined up along the table. There would not be many of them tonight, but any was better than none. At least Helen had company tonight. Unlike one year where she spent the weekend away in her Italian villa alone for Christmas. But that was thirty years ago. It was nice to finally share this lovely occasion with friends.
A moment later, both Kate and Henry finally arrived. Helen smiled again, ”Lovely for you to join us.” She glanced at Henry, ”Well, I figured after everyone’s attempt at reserving a table with their respective partners – under my name – Then I figured I best secure a table for all of us to share on this occasion. With my name. Truthfully.” Helen sat there, highly amused. Oh, she knew very well that both Henry and Will had used her name for a booking without her permission.
There was no hiding from Helen Magnus.

Will thought about what Magnus had asked. He would have liked to have arrived with Abby. After all, he had been trying to get them into this place the last couple of times that they had gone out. Somehow, his plans always ended up getting thwarted by some abnormal that they needed to capture. He hoped that she would make it. Will had told her to tell the agency that she was sick – but she just smiled at him and gave him a kiss before heading out the door of the Sanctuary, yelling out “I’ll be there when I can”.
He smiled across at Magnus as he lifted the glass to his lips, and took a sip. “No, Abby is not with me.” Will said in reply to her question and continued “She got called into the office last minute. I told her to leave it to someone else, but she was adamant."
Will thought he would just side-step the response about Tesla – hoping that Magnus wouldn’t notice. Before he could say anything more, Kate arrived at the table “Hi Kate.” Will added as he watched her sit. Right behind her Will noticed Henry had arrived too. Will smiled as he saw that Henry was carrying his tablet as he sat down “Hey Henry.”
No sooner had Henry sat down, and Will was about to turn his attention to the table, something out of the corner of his eye caught his attention. Will turned his head to the doorway, and saw Abby standing there looking around the restaurant wearing a deep red blouse, and a black full length skirt. Will stood and beckoned her towards them. Abby saw him and smiled as she approached. Will pulled her in, and gave her a kiss and then guided her to the chair with one hand at her back. “I believe all of you know, Abby?”
Will pushed her chair in, and sat back in his seat beside her and poured some wine into her glass.
