[OOC: Since we don't yet have a Henry or Will yet, I will be temporarily playing them] "Henry! Give us a report of the situation...." The black SUV skidded roughly around the corner, avoiding the larger puddles of quickly forming stormwater. The roads were getting muddy and slick, and even more dangerous to drive in the heart of dawn, now quickly approaching. Lightning flashed dangerously several times, followed by a loud clap of thunder. Ever since the invasion of the Abnormals from Hollow Earth, things were getting pretty crazy. And it wasn't even just in Old City. Things were happening on an enormous scale around the world, and the only thing that could be done at this point was to push through it all. It was beyond disaterous. Will Zimmerman sped around the corner, and off the highway that lead out from Old City. As far as they knew, there were reports of an electromagnetic disturbance in the warehouse district outside the city. Not to mention the reports of a missing woman in the same vicinity, it was sure to grab the Sanctuaries attention. Henry had recieved the report less than an hour ago, and so alerted both Helen Magnus and Will without them even touching base at the Sanctuary yet. They had just recently finished a case of a missing Folding child, who was found by Magnus and returned to it's parents. On their way home, it was Henry that gave them the message. Big Guy was left behind at the Sanctuary to simply man the forte. And besides, Helen seen sure they would be fine without him. With Henry keeping tabs on their location, it was up to Will and Helen to investigate this occurance. They already had the car packed with equipment, which was already there for emergency matters. So, they had no reason to head back home. "...I see large EM activity just northwest of the industrial district....It seems to converge on the old Gordon Enterprises...." Henry's voice could be heard loud and clear on Magnus' loudspeaker, as he gave them the reports that came flooding into the Sanctuary. "Hey, remember they shut that down only six months's ago-""Henry, focus -" Helen retorted, as Will turned the vehicle sharply down a long dirt road just off from the main road. They were getting closer....The car hit a ditch, and the car shuddered with a loud crunch. Will kept the vehicle moving. "Will, we are meant to be keeping a low profile..." The car skidded to a stop just outside the warehouse, which appeared to be empty. It looked quiet enough. Helen and Will quickly moved out of the vehicle, and checked their weapons. Helen retrieved a tranqueliser gun from the back seat, and attacted it to her holster. Nodding to her collegue, they both moved out, weapons drawn defensively. They reached the side of the warehouse, and hugged the wall as Will peered around the corner. Nothing. Helen attached her earpiece, in order to contact Henry. her phone would draw attention and interfere with the electric signals around the warehouse. "....Keep us posted, Henry, " Helen clasped her gun with both hands, and looked at Will, "We need to cover more ground. Head around the other side, and keep in close contact. " Without another word, Will made his way around the outside of the warehouse. It was a good thing to check the outside for anything out of place, before investigating inside. That is to eliminate anyone that could be watching their every move. It was extremely quiet, and the rain just kept pelting harder. They were going to be soaked by the time they got back to the Sanctuary. With her gun pointed ahead, she was careful to tread quietly around the area. Then she heard a noise. A shift in the bushes ahead, near where the warehouse fence was. The warehouse was left unattended for sometime, leaving the plants around the area to overgrow and conceal the warehouse even more. She kept silent and steady.[/size][/blockquote]

As she finished the last paragraph of the article she was currently reading, Karyn reached out for the mug of tea she had brought to the library with her. She raised an eyebrow slightly and looked up from the paper as she noticed that the liquid was no longer emanating the comforting warmth she had been looking for. She sighed softly and put the sheets of paper down on the table before getting up from the chair she had been sitting on for the past... Wait, for exactly how long had she been sitting there? Her muscles were tense. She looked at the watch that decorated her wrist.
"Bloody hell..." She murmured before putting her research material together on the designated folder and grabbing the mug of what was now cold tea.
She left the library, turning off the lights and closing the door behind her. She still couldn't believe she had been there for the past five hours. What had happened to Andrea? She had asked the younger woman to call her as soon as she was done with the computer business but apparently she had forgotten. Again. She should ask Derek next time... she knew he would probably forget as well but hey, giving it a go wouldn't hurt, right?
The New York Sanctuary halls sounded way too quiet as she made her way back to her office. Something must have happened while she was gone because there were no people yelling, there were no flying abnormals destroying the place, there was no sign of smoke or fire... She had to confess she was surprised. Usually when she disappeared for half a second, she would return to find a mess.
Finding the peaceful atmosphere to be everything but normal, she took a deep breath and braced herself for the worst as her hand turned the knob that opened the door that led to her office. That was when she started to worry... it was empty. There was no one inside, there was no one playing on her computer, Derek wasn't sleeping on her couch... where was everyone? She was about to call out for Derek through the walkie-talkie when her cell phone vibrated over her desk. She put her things down before actually taking a look at her phone. Apparently someone had sent her a new text message. She pressed the button that would allow her to read the message, but instead of it opening instantly, her phone seemed to be taking ages to process her request.
"Had to be you, Henry." She said out loud as soon as she was able to see the information appearing on the small screen of her Blackberry. Instead of reading through the text that seemed more like a novel than anything else, she dialed his number and waited for him to answer.
"Aren't you the one who dislikes talking on the phone?" The familiar voice said from the other side of the line.
"Do you really expect me to comment on that?" She replied, her free hand coming to rest on her hip.
"It was an emergency and I still took the time to think of your well-being... do you expect me to comment?"
"What is the emergency?" She asked after rolling her eyes, ignoring his comment. "Oh, and next time type SOS or something... more practical, you know?" She added as she walked around her desk, typing her username and her password so that she could access her computer.
"I'll e-mail you the information. Hurry up." And with that he hung up.
"On my way." She mumbled under her breath before texting both Derek and Andrea saying that she was going to have to leave for a while and asking them to behave and not to destroy the Sanctuary. Wearing a pair of black jeans, a black tank top, a black blazer and her black converse shoes, Karyn appeared at the door of the main Sanctuary. Her long red hair was pulled back in a pony tail that swung over her back as she followed Henry to the lab, where he was working.
"What are you using to speak with them?" She asked Henry as she sat by his side in front of the computers.
"Are you sure you want to use it?" He joked with her as he gave her a headset.
"We shall discuss today's events as soon as we get everyone home safely, yes?" She asked before putting the headset on and pressing the button that allowed her to communicate with Helen and her protégé, the young William that Karyn had never met but had heard about.
"The city smells of rage and revenge..." She informed. "And blood, to be honest. What's the current situation?"

Helen could smell smoke, along with a mixture of something putrid and acidic. It seemed to converse along the entire perimeter of the warehouse like a thick fog. As far at witness accounts go, it was said this animal was larger than a small foal, yet taking the appearance of a something of a blowfly. An insectoid-type Abnormal, with a hard-shelled exterior, and pores inside of its talons which emits an acidic residue. Nocturnal creatures, also known as a Levidon, Fortis empis levida, or simply Gastly according to Henry….That explains the smell.
But it wasn’t just one they were looking out for. They travel in groups of three. And Magnus knew that even a simple bug repellent will not keep them at bay.
With a stun gun clasped tightly in one hand, she pressed forward until she reached a mass of tangled bushes, overgrown along one of the openings to the building. Taking note of its thorn encrusted ridges, she decided to try and find another around. Most likely she would end up rejoining Will along the other side. In the midst of the whistling of the cool night breeze, she heard a faint scraping directly behind her, making goose-bumps erupt all over her smooth skin. Immediately, she flipped around on her black combat boots, to face the set of trees lined behind her.
Adjusting the headset carefully, she whispered into the small microphone, ”Will. Some movement along the trees on the South side.” There was a faint crackled on the other end, and soon enough, she was relieved to hear Will’s voice in return, “Yeah, I got movement down my end as well. We should have bought Henry with us…” Helen sighed, ”…Far too late for that, Will – “ The screeching got louder. The creature was edging near. And yet it still could not be seen. There was not a whole lot she knew about this creature, except that it originated in central Canada, among the cool rainforests. Now, it seems their existence is spreading.
“…What is it, Magnus?”
Helen ignored Will’s plea, as she strained her ears to hear more. Raising her gun at eye-level, she decided to move towards the sound. She could hear Will’s voice, but she needed to know more. Among the darkness of the shadowed trees ahead she could make out the silver spines and three pairs of glowing eyes staring right back her. Her breath went shallow, as she now stood rooted to the spot.
Then she fired.
Will heard the gun-shot in the distance, down at the other end of the perimeter where Helen was. “- I’m coming Magnus!” Quickly diverting his voice to Henry’s communicator, she spoke with much urgency, “Henry! I think we may have found of them…Helen is in trouble! Have you found the other two?! We need back-up!” – There was more gunshots – “….Now, would be nice!”
Will suddenly erupted into a sprint, attempting to get to Magnus before the Abnormals do. One touch from one of them, could result in the skin melting off your flesh.
“ – Will! Will! CRAP!” Henry smacked the tabletop with the palm of his hand, just as Karyn Guinness, the Head of the New York City Sanctuary, came barging into his lab.
A small ounce of relief flooded his worried face. “…..That was fast! Magnus and Will need back-up. Those insect Levidon’s move too fast for my radar. We need to get to them. Now!” Henry got up from his seat, back in his lab at the Old City Sanctuary, grabbed a set of stun guns, and handed one to Karyn. “Here – By the sounds of things, I may need your help.” He grabbed his set of keys for the Sanctuary van, nodded to Karyn, and bolted out of the door.

Hearing a banging door was the thing that had finally woken Kate up from her formerly peaceful slumber and saying that she was unhappy was understatement. After just getting home from a week long and very tiresome mission over in Japan all she wanted to right about now was go back to sleep in her bed. Closing her eyes once again she waited a couple minutes and waited and waited and hadn't heard anyone around. Walking, scramming or even yelling. She heard nothing and of course, when you work at the Sanctuary for a long period of time, you come to realize that if you hear nothing often means that something is going on. Ripping the blankets from her body, slowly getting up out if her bed and getting changed out of her pjs and into her usual attire. Opening the door she began to look around and found that she was right. There was no-one there, well, other than the couple of abnormal that where around. As she walked around to the Old City Sanctuary to see if she could find at someone that worked her. Strolling into Magnus' Office again she found no one and decided that it may be a good idea to have a little look on her computer to see what was going on. Opening up a laptop that was placed on the desk she found a chat box that was open and then a picture of a very familiar guy popped onto the screen. Looking behind her then back at the screen she found a very worried looking Big Guy looking right back at her.
"What are you looking for, anything I can help you with, Kate?" The Big Guy asked her as she began to look around Helen's desk to see if she could fins anything to do with the missing workers. As she looked back at the computer screen she rubbed her eyes as a sign of tiredness then placed her hands into her back pockets. Swinging back and forth on the chair she finally decided that it might be a good idea to ask him what was going on.
"What is going on in here?" Kate asked the Big Guy as if it where deja vu from the inside, "I have pretty much done a lap around this place and can't find anyone and that is what is worrying me! Where is everyone!?" Enterprising the fact that she had walked around the Sanctuary with a hint of sarcasm slotted in there in true Kate style.
"Well, you see.." The big started and then stopped. You could tell that he was trying to work out what would happen if he actually told her what was going on, finally deciding that it may be a good idea he continued, "There has been a report of some electromagnetic disturbance in the warehouse district outside the city. Helen and Will decided that it might be a good idea to go and check it out when Henry told them. They also figured that it might be a good idea for you to get some beauty sleep."
"Dam straight" Kate said as she interupped the Big Guy. Realizing that she did this she then said, "Oh, sorry! Continue"
"Don't worry. That's all I had to say. You might as well go and help. Who knows what could be happening.." And with that the chat box was closed and so was the laptop she ran back to her room, grabbed her phone and decided to call Magnus to see what was happening. While doing this she was grabbing a couple weapons and rushing out of the Sanctuary.
As the phone ran all the could do was wait and hope that someone picked up the phone call. If not, who knows what could be happening.

"You did mention the word emergency on the phone... I presumed that getting here as fast as I could would be helpful." Karyn replied as she approached Henry, losing her balance on her way for a moment as the waves of emotion he was emanating crushed against her. She was expecting there to be some sort of problem but not such a challenging one. Either he was making a big deal out of it, or Helen had truly gotten in trouble. Truth to be told, trouble was indeed Helen's middle name. The only reason why Karyn wasn't panicking yet was because she knew that Helen always found a way out it. With or without help, she knew Helen would be fine.
The stun gun made her freeze for a moment. She knew it wouldn't kill the abnormal but she also knew that whatever feeling it caused in the creature, she would end up feeling it herself. The confusion, the uncertainty, the fear... she would feel it all. That had to be the worst thing about being an Empath. Yes, you can control who you connect with but when the emotions are too strong, when the feeling are too powerful, you really have no choice... they penetrate your flesh, they get into your bloodstream and are taken directly to your heart, whether you're ready or not. They don't ask for permission, they don't knock at the door, they barge in and they leave you breathless.
Karyn closed her eyes for a second and focused on her heartbeat, focused on the idea of making it slow down. She brought her free hand up to rest upon her chest, right above her heart, and then took a deep breath. She was as ready as she would ever be. "Let's do this." She said more to herself than anyone else, following Henry out of the Sanctuary and into the van.
They got there pretty fast as Henry had driven as if there were no such thing as speed limits. She grabbed the gun that had been resting on her lap and held it firmly as she left the van, quietly closing the door behind her, trying to avoid disturbing the atmosphere. They had to learn the territory before coming forward as attackers or they would end up the victims of an unplanned hurry.
"What was their last known position?" She asked as she stood side by side with Henry. "We should probably start from there..." She added as she studied their surroundings. She could try to focus and read the emotional field but at the moment she wasn't sure if that would help for she would get in touch with emotions from both Will and Helen and the abnormals. Without knowing a pattern of the abnormals' activities and behavior, she wouldn't be sure to whom the feelings belonged.

The electric shots of the stun gun rang out through the usually quiet warehouse facility. Several ebony colored birds flew off from their perches, as they sensed the danger that lurked beneath those shadows.
As fast as she fired the weapon, Helen Magnus gritted her teeth as the shots missed its target. She fired again, but this time, sparks flew from the tree she just hit. This seemed to make the creature more angry. With a flurry of transparent wings, the Levidon flew from its hiding place, and sliced through the air, straight towards Helen. The creature moved incredibly fast, and with the faint glow of the dawn sky, she noticed those three pairs of eyes belonged simply to the one creature. She must admit – This creature was magnificent.
With only seconds to react, and the creature headed straight towards her, she dived to the ground and rolled to the left, as the creature glided swiftly over her head. She even felt her hair being blown in all directions from the mere speed the creature was moving. Quickly crouching in her current position, she swung her right arm around and fired again, this time hitting one of the wings as it flew off. The Abnormal seemed to spiral out of control, and landed with a thud on the rooftop of the warehouse, out of sight.
Helen blew a strand of wayward hair from her azure eyes, as she picked herself up from the ground. Immediately, she adjusted her headset, ”Will. I encountered one of the Levidon’s, however I need to head up to the topmost balcony of the warehouse in order to retrieve it. What’s your position?” She heard a slight buzz of static, and several seconds later, she heard Will’s voice on the receiving end, “Magnus – What the hell just happened?!” ”I’m fine, Will. What’s your location?” “Uhhh….I’m right near the back entrance. “ ”Good. Hold your position, and I’ll meet you there. Stay cautious.”
With her stun gun gripped firmly in one hand, she began to follow the outer wall of the main warehouse, and kept hidden beneath the masses of overgrown bushes which seemed to have been left unkempt for years. As she continued on her way, she heard the faint shriek of another Levidon, this time around Will’s position.
Then she broke off into a sprint.

"Darn," Kate said as the dial tone ran out as if the owner hadn't answered, the situation must be really bad, "I really need to get there, now!" Running toward the one of the only cars that was left, Kate quickly got in and sent up the GPS so that she was driving toward the Sanctuary Team's location. As soon as the really stupid male voice sounded throughout the small vehicle Kate quickly put her foot on the accelerator and speed her way through the drive though. As soon as she was on her way there, Kate quickly grabbed the radio that was on the passenger seat and decided that she would try to get through, thinking that this time, someone might hear her.
"Is anyone there?" Kate yelled into the radio as soon as she was around halfway to her destination, "This is Kate! Can anyone hear me?" After a couple minutes of repeating herself over and over she finally gave up and decided that she might just until she got here to actually yell at everyone as soon as the mission was over. Getting at the destination, Kate saw something that she didn't think seem right. She saw two of the Sanctuary cars but no one in them. 'They must have gone further in' She thought to herself as she began to venture further into warehouse district. As soon as Kate heard anything she quickly got into a sprint and began to yell.
"Magnus! Will! Are you guys here?" Defiantly not knowing what she was getting into.

"Oh Helen, what have you gotten yourself into..." Karyn mumbled under her breath as she followed Henry. They were using one of the many devices he had created. To be honest, she had no idea of what they were using it for, but she was sure there was a point. After all, he was the genius. She suddenly stopped and raised an eyebrow. Something had changed. They were getting closer to something or someone... She closed her eyes and tried to focus, tried to get in touch with the surrounding atmosphere. Not only were they moving towards something or someone, that something or someone was also moving towards them. And fast.
"Henry..." She started, her voice dropping to a lower tone so that she wouldn't disturb the stillness and the quietness that still enveloped them. "I think we should stop for a moment... there's..." She didn't have time to finish her thought because she was suddenly too busy trying not to have a heart attack. A sudden loud voice had come through the walkie-talkie. She had not been expecting someone to contact them and so she almost jumped out of her skin. It took her a moment to recover and another not to die laughing at herself. Life was not as predictable as it seemed... not even for her. "This is Karyn. I am here with Henry." She said to the radio as she pressed the button so that the sound would go through. "I believe you are running towards us... if that's not you, we might be in trouble." She admitted. "No sign of Helen or Will on our end. We haven't come across any of the creatures either..."
