Henry growled a little, staring at the computer screen in front of him. He HATED paperwork! Henry didn't see why he couldn't just ask for permission, why did he have to write it down?
Henry had been staring at the "Request for Leave" form for about an hour, feeling a little guilty. He jumped when Biggie came up behind him.
"You going to the London Comic Con?" Biggie asked, straight to the point. Henry frowned slightly, worrying he was becoming a tad predictable.
"If I can." Henry replied, still staring at the empty form.
"So why don't you put that?" Biggie prompted. Henry sighed, turning his swivel chair away from the computer so he could face Biggie.
"I dunno, man. I don't really wanna ask."
"Magnus is many things, but she's not a mindreader." Biggie responded.
"Can't you ask her for me?" Henry started to whine.
"I could." Biggie replied.
"You're not going to, are you." Henry realised. Biggie shook his head. "I guess I could make it a working vacation. MCM Expo is always full of abnormals. I could work with Declan. He's cool."
"It is up to Magnus." Biggie carefully said; a little worried Henry had bitten off more than he could chew, so to speak. "But there is no harm in asking."
"I know." Henry frowned. "I just wish I didn't have to ask in writing." Henry turned his chair around and started typing, slowly at first. His hands gradually picked up the pace, before flying over the keyboard.
At some point Biggie left, but Henry failed to notice. He was too busy writing up everything in his request form: the gaming, the abnormals, the fact he could offer his services to the London sanctuary for a while. If Henry played his cards right, in a fortnights time he could be in London, getting ready for the Expo.
Henry emailed the Request for Leave form to Magnus, and anxiously moved on to one of the other jobs on his to-do list whilst nervously awaiting a reply.
