personality:John Druitt is both the sun and the moon, sometimes being both at the same time. He's well-mannered, well-spoken and brilliantly clever. He likes to play around the rules and find paths between them, attempting to cross the line in the sand without corrupting its immaculate design. He believes in the existence of perfection, trying to achieve it at all costs. Whether he's playing the hunter, the victim or the savior, he gives everything he has got.
His fuel depends on his mood, going from rage to passion and at times to love. He's not evil but he can play the devil without missing any of the lines. Truth to be told, John Druitt is a victim of his own intelligence. His calm tone, his kind eyes and his confident posture hide the monstrosities he has witnessed and taken part of, but they also hide a sometimes kind heart, that knows love beyond limitations.
history:John Druitt is everything but a cliché.
When he was younger he preferred staying with his mother in the kitchen to playing with his friends outside. Being her only child, his mother also preferred to keep him close, finding both his company and his agility with knifes quite helpful. His father, always away taking care of business, didn't seem to have much to say about his son's education, leaving his wife to make decisions for both of them. She, wanting her only son to go far in life, taught him a bit about everything, finding herself diving into the world of literature, mathematics and science with him, making sure neither of them drowned in knowledge. If it weren't for her, he would have never joined Oxford and would have never been part of "The Five".
The relationship he had with his mother was probably one of the reasons why he fell madly in love with Helen Magnus. He saw in her the same thirst for knowledge, the same passion for living, the same courage to face the world of the unknown... and the same kind heart that seemed to know no boundaries, loving everything and everyone. They were happy. They complemented each other at so many levels. They were meant to be. He was so sure of it that he asked her to marry him. She said yes.
But then hell broke loose and things got beyond complicated.
The source blood that by then travelled inside their veins at an unstoppable speed delivered gifts that soon became curses, John's being one of the most radical ones. At first everything seemed to be fine, he seemed to be in control of his ability and he was enjoying it quite a bit, using it to help The Five carry on with their studies and also to show Helen the wonders of a world that was now at the distance of a thought. What he didn't know was that the more he used his power, the more inviting host he seemed to become at the eyes of an energy being known as electro. Their blending drove Druitt insane. And that was when Jack the Ripper came to life. Helen tried to help him deal with it and she was quite successful, at least for a while. Soon though the smell of blood became too intoxicating and the legend was born... a killer too smart to be caught, too cautious to be an amateur, too precise to be nothing more than a killer.
The Five broke apart with time, each following their own path. History ended up teaching them that their paths would forever be intertwined as they were connected by the blood that ran through their veins. This blood relation became even stronger between Helen and John as Helen gave John her own blood to try and cure him. It did prove itself to be effective but not everlasting, causing him to visit her at times to ask for more, or order for more, depending on which phase of the moon he was in.
One of his last visits resulted in Ashley learning the truth about her father. It wasn't easy at first but soon enough they were both working together to save Helen from Nikola's wild mind and Cabal's mad plans to rule the world. Saving Helen would have been the perfect ending to such an epic love story but peace hadn't come to stay. People from the Cabal kidnapped and turned Ashley into a superabnormal, action that ended up causing Ashley's death as she sacrificed herself so that her dark side wouldn't murder her mother. Watching his Helen suffering made him swear revenge. And that's what he has been doing ever since...
They can attack him, torture him, attempt to kill him painfully slow... but if they attempt to cross Helen's path, he will go after them. And if he does, God help whoever is on Helen's way, because with or without the company of his insanity, blood will be shed with no tears of regret.

hello! my name is Tess! and i'm excited to be here. i've been roleplaying for about 7 years now. other characters on this site that belong to me are Karyn Guinness. my time zone is GMT. and that's all you need to know about me! oh, and this is what an average post for me looks like:
* * * Karyn walked into her office and closed the door behind her. She walked towards her desk, using it to support herself as she took her shoes off. She sat down on her comfortable chair and allowed herself to close her eyes for a moment. She could almost feel her muscles dancing as she took a deep breath, letting the air out slowly. No rush, no stress, no nothing.
It had been one hell of a day.
She had spent the whole morning answering phone calls from journalists questioning the reason why she had been called into a crime scene before the police on the day before. She tried to explain it without giving out too much information but as they didn't seem too happy with her answers, she started picking up the phone, saying "no comments" and then hanging up. She knew it wasn't the smartest approach but she had other things to deal with, other things to think about.
She had to attend a diplomatic lunch and that meant she had to learn as much as she could about other people's feelings towards the possible existence of beings with special features, the abnormals. Since the incident on Hollow Earth the number of abnormals living on the surface had grown and so had the number of sightings and the number of people believing, and sharing that same belief with their communities, that this was the first sign that the world was about to end.
"If only you knew..." Karyn mumbled under her breath.
The lunch was supposed to take two hours but ended up turning into dinner as well. She had never smiled so much in her entire life while hearing people commenting on the so called monsters, monsters such as herself. If only they knew that the true monsters lived within themselves... if only they knew that the looks aren't what makes someone a monster, but what goes inside their minds...
She shook her head slowly, trying to make those thoughts abandon her mind. She was finally at home, she was finally able to relax and she truly deserved to do so.
