The mood in the Sanctuary had been dark for far too long this was very unsettling for everyone but no one really knew how much it was effecting Biggie. For the most part he kept his feelings safely guarded, even from Henry and Magnus the two people who knew him the most. He wasn't however going to ignore the season just because there was an air of omniscient gloom surrounding the Sanctuary. As usually he put on his funny elf ears and crept into the Lab hoping Henry was no where to be found. There was a carefully wrapped boxed present in shiny gold paper in his hand he intended to leave for Henry then creep away.
With everything changing around the rapidly and with new threats seeming popping up one after the other, he hardly had any time to spend with his friend, that didn't have to do with business. Biggie felt bad about. Even more so because some of his distance between the ones around him had been intentional, he didn't want to burden them with the mixed feelings he had been having. It felt like his world was split and he was being torn in two. He knew that if it came to it he would have to make a tough decision that would hurt the very people he loved the most. Henry was one of them. Before he had a chance to leave he heard someone coming and knew very well who it was...

Henry came rushing around the corner to his lab. His mind was so focused on the tablet he was working on, he never even sensed Biggie in his lab, not until it was too late. Henry literally bumped into the Big Guy. That was… worrying.
Henry paused in his tracks. It took a while, but eventually the external stimuli flooded his senses. Scent, sound, atmosphere. Something didn’t seem normal, but nothing was ever normal around this place. Only then did Henry look up. He did a double take when he saw Biggie’s elf ears. Henry tilted his head.
“Is it really that time of year again?” Henry questioned. “Really?” His voice almost rose an octave on that last word. Henry’s brow furrowed as he looked at Biggie.

Someone had to cheer this place up a bit and he took it upon himself to do it even if it meant donning goofy head gear and ignoring even for a moment what was going on around them. They were his family, he had that tug in his chest that said take care of them no matter what, and that's what he was going to do. He grunted a little when Henry bumped into him, it wasn't the first time, and probably wouldn't be the last, he couldn't help but chuckle.
"Yup, afraid so." It was always a joke between them that when it came to an occasion to exchange some sort of gift neither would know if it was something totally crazy and outlandish or something sincere, but either way proceed with caution "It's been easy to forget around here, gives me the willies, go on open it." When he did open it Henry found a wood carving of a werewolf something he made himself and painted with a glossy brown coat. There was a word on it and Henry knew this was Biggie's native language it read 'Brother' “I figured I'd go meaningful this year, especially after my stunt last year nearly caught the tree on fire.” He chuckled. The truth was couldn't always just say how he felt about Henry but he wanted the other man to know he saw him, as equal despite their age difference the fact that Biggie had been there as Henry grew.

Tears welled up in Henry’s eyes the second he saw Biggie’s present to him. The handcrafted wooden carving was so beautiful that it made Henry proud to be a werewolf. For the longest time, Henry feared the abnormal part of himself. Biggie helped talk him through the change, made him see that it made Henry stronger, not weaker. Henry owed him a lot. Then he saw the inscription.
“Brother.” Henry had to blink away a few tears at that. Henry never really thought about family, although he had thought more about it recently than usual. He never knew his parents, couldn’t even remember them. And as great as the Doc was, she was never a mother figure to him. But now he had a brother, and he never even knew. Kind of made him feel like an idiot for not noticing, but exceedingly grateful now he realised.
He also felt incredibly foolish, because he never realised what the Christmas spirit was all about before. Henry always thought it was about cool toys and working hard to create even cooler ones, dressing up in silly clothes and listening to the same set of songs over and over and over. It was actually about spending time with family and loved ones. And Henry loved his family at Sanctuary so very, very much.
“Okay, bro, now I feel rotten because all I got you is this.” Henry blenched, rummaging through the nooks and crannies of his lab before eventually pulling out a woollen sweater vest. It was festive, bulky and big. Henry held it up to Biggie’ chest, checking the fit. “I think it’ll look good on you, Big Guy.” Henry smiled, with a twinkle in his watery eyes. “Merry Christmas.”
