"I-I dunno. I was guessing." Not technically true, of course, but the boy was nervous. He had just...spoken without thinking, but he spoke again, correcting himself.
"Th...they eat a lot...a-and...are different colors sometimes." He looked towards the door again and took another step towards it, wondering if there was a place big enough for Alto.

Carefully she watched him inching towards the door. He probably wanted to explore but that wasn't an option at the moment. Sanctuary was large and vast and Ingrid didn't have the time nor the energy to follow him around and make sure he didn't get into anything he shouldn't.
"If there are more, then maybe we can find him a little friend," she said before moving behind Michael and putting a hand on his shoulder. "But for now why don't you stay here and keep him company while I talk with Doctor Magnus."

He had inched all the way to the door, and he was actually going to open it, but he felt Ingrid Richards touch his shoulder. Perhaps a reminder that there were people there, and she would notice if he left.
"Y-yeah...okay. Can I play with him outside the box?" There was something really cool about the animal. They sensed quite a lot, they had great hearing, but they also sensed danger rather well. Young children played with the animals all the time in the forest, because they were of little threat, and normally became protected by the creature along the way.
Michael of course didn't know this information to the science, he just knew he'd played with an animal like Alto before, and he'd been fine.

[OOC: SO sorry for the delay, guys! Homework and work is kicking my ass >___<]
Helen made her way to the other side of the table, to examine the creature further. The Abnormal, quite a small being, took a lot of resemblance from the Northern Red Fox. Slightly larger than a Pekinese dog, this Abnormal was sound asleep in its sound-proof chamber, complete with its Elvis tunes.
”Indeed, this creature is one of the few to surface from Hollow Earth. Given it’s statured appearance, and short fur coat, it’s high-pitched melodies are usually contained within the stone walls of the tunnels. They are solitary creatures. They adopt quite a remarkable defence mechansim.” Helen peered through the glass again, ”It appears to be an Abnormal subspecies of the Prilaxa Vulpis, which has a similar defence. Obviously, the species that reside in Hollow Earth are far more prone to leave their victims temporarily deaf. In some cases, they could even cause memory loss. It is not a frequency humans are meant to endure.” Helen stood up straight and looked at Ingrid, ”This creature needs to be handled with care and moved to a more secure containment. If it’s angered, its high-pitch cry may shatter the glass. In any case, we need hearing protection when in the vicinity of the Prilaxa.”
Helen then turned to Michael, ”As for you Michael, I need to give you a final check-up, so I know you will be well enough. I don’t usually allow patients to roam the halls, unless I give them an all clear. I want you to be well.” Helen smiled at the boy, before reaching out to smooth down the boy’s hair. On instinct, of course. She was usually very fussy, especially when Ashley was young. Helen, being so dedicated to rules and guidelines, had always made sure that Ashley was safe. Now, Helen did not want to be responsible for another child’s death.

He frowned a little bit. A final check-up? He was okay, right? Since he was walking around, but Michael was indeed exhausted. He was rubbing his eyes, and he tried to hide it as though he’d gotten a foreign object in them. But, of course, Michael was just like that. Or rather, that was how he seemed to be, considering many didn’t know him too much either. He still had not told Helen Magnus his parents weren’t like him, so looking for people like him wouldn’t be the way to find them.
He yawned a little bit, though he just coughed, as though being sick was better than being tired. He looked back to alto. Isolation, huh? Didn’t really sound too fun. He ran a hand through his hair slightly, trying to get it from his face. It had grown a little bit too long for him.
“I’m sorry Helen Magnus.”
Michael leaned into her slightly, because he was tired, and perhaps because he liked having someone he could feel protected being near. She also smoothed his hair down, rather happy merely at the attention he was given. Slowly, he wrapped his arms around her. He wanted a hug. She gave good hugs, after all.

Ingrid listened to Magnus, nodding in the right spots. She felt silly that she herself didn't realize all there was to know about the Prilaxa. Though, she would still continue to call him Alto. Seemed fitting enough.
She stepped away from Michael when Magnus basically told him she needed him back to the infirmary for another check-up. It was then that she felt one of her headaches creeping up just behind her eyes. For a moment she leaned against the stone wall, putting her hands over her face, just above her mouth. Damn it all, she thought to herself. It had been at least eight months since her last brain scan, two months over when she should have originally had one. She was terrified about what it would show since her headaches had become slightly more frequent.
"Alright, I'll get with Henry in a bit to set up an adequate containment area." She said after removing her hands from her face, trying to look like she was alright. Though the strain in her eyes told otherwise.
"But for now," She added, looking at Michael with a forced smile. "Let's do as Doctor Magnus says and get you back to the infirmary to make sure everything's alright with you."

Helen nodded at Ingrid with a sincere nod, and clasped her hands neatly in front of her, ”Henry should have the creature on file, since we’ve dealt with this species before. He should have all the required protocols at your disposal.”
As she spoke, she felt small arms wrap themselves around her waist. Something she was never used to receiving, and kind of threw her slightly off-guard. Especially by a child who seemed very attached to her. All feelings aside, she glanced at Michael, ”No need to apologise. I just want you all fit and well.”
Just as Helen turned to leave, with Michael still clinged onto her, she looked back at Ingrid ”After I tend to Michael, I will be in my office. I need to continue to monitor the Praxian refugees on the border of Pakistan, and another in central Vietnam. You know where to find me if any other problems arise. In fact Ingrid, come and see in my office in a few hours. I need to discuss a few things with you, if that's alright.” Helen gave a nod with a smile, before turning and leaving the lab in order to tend to Michael’s wounds once more.
[OOC: I’ll exit Helen here, if that’s okay. Sorry for all my delays. I’m usually very quick to reply if it weren’t for my job and final studies. Xox]
